Story

West Street Leather Co. was born from a desire to share a creative outlet that began years ago. Always interested in art, music and creating, I began working with leather.

After making goods for family and friends I decided I wanted to put a name on my work, my own maker’s mark but didn’t know what to call it yet.

I wanted a name that included all the things that influenced and inspired my work: I loved the northern west coast where I live and grew up, I like classic simple cowboy equipment, the “old west,” and traditional bags and gear that people have used for hundreds of years. I love being able to make something personal- for someone to be able to get their gear from a local worker that they know (like farm to table eating - you know the work and effort that went into creating your leather goods).

One day I looked outside and saw the street sign on the corner and realized it was the perfect name for my work. There are West Streets in almost every town which is a great reminder that when you carry our gear it is from a small company, made personally for you.

All items are designed, cut and created by hand in California. I use  premium leather and traditional methods that have been used for hundreds of years like the saddle-stitch. West Street Leather Co. goods are made with care to last a lifetime.
